Ever wonder How Plays are Selected?


As the current season begins, ZCT is planning the next season. Plays and musicals are solicited and accepted from Director/Producer production teams.


Each team receives an information packet detailing artistic and fiscal needs and restrictions. In return, each production team is required to submit a copy of the play or musical with a detailed and accurate budget to the chair of the Play Reading Committee. The team is required to detail any unusual requirements of the production.


After all members of the selection committee have read and discussed the submissions, the season is proposed and submitted to the Board of Directors for their final approval or additional changes.


You do not need to be an active member of Zanesville Community Theatre, Inc. to submit a show for consideration, nor does the show have to be available from a rental catalog. ZCT has premiered or revived many original works written by local playwrights.
