Sis
Bowman – ( Helene Hanff ) - Theater is an escape for me, but in this
particular show I cannot escape reality. I feel Helene Hanff's character as if
it were my own. I thank goodness that is the case. I am not and have never been
an actor. I much prefer to work behind the scenes and assist with choreography.
But knowing I am portraying a real person, has given me the chance to step
inside her life without much change from my own. There is one difference though,
I prefer wine over gin.
Rich
Tolliver –( Frank Doel ) - has been in and around theater for almost 30
years. He tries to learn or experiment with something new for every show.
"Theater (no matter which facet) is a craft and needs nurturing" and
it’s a delicate balance between what's traditionally done and thinking outside
of the box. Frank Doel is a role he's been waiting on to come around for over a
decade. "Everything finally fell into place" he says. This role hinges
on subtleties; too much character would be as bad, if not worse, then none at
all.
Jillian
Von Gunten – ( Cecily Farr ) - is an excited freshman at Denison
University. She has been involved with theater for most of her life with
roles both backstage and in the limelight. This play has been very special to
her not only because of the wonderful story but also because of the people
involved; this is a fantastic cast and I am honored to work with them on such a
marvelous endeavor.
Ashley
Eaves – ( Megan Wells ) – is a recent high school graduate. Currently
employed as a Nanny. I plan to attend Bethel College, Indiana in the fall of
2005, majoring in Theater or Spanish. I started theater a little over two years
ago and have had roles in various community shows; my favorite so far was
playing "Charlotte" in Charlotte's Web. My summers are spent
volunteering with a children's ministry called Superkids. In my spare time I
enjoy drawing, reading classic literature, and singing. Thank you for coming to
see the show and may God bless you!
Maury Kenily ( George Martin )
Mollie
Gookins Earich – ( Maxine ) - A veteran of numerous plays off Broadway
says:" I am honored to be a part of the cast of 84 CCR. I
love the fact that this show has never been done in Zanesville and that it is
about real people! My dream as a young girl was to be a famous actress and in
this show I finally get to realize that dream in the character of Maxine,
The Actress! May you enjoy your time as well in the book store and thank you for
supporting live theatre in Zanesville
Dan
Brown – ( William Humphries ) is Dan Brown’s Zanesville Community
Theater debut! Dan has done many plays at Maysville High School before
graduating in 2004. Dan has also done various film projects for the Maysville
High School video editing class, including an impressive 80-minute civil war
project, Berdan’s Sharpshooters, under the direction of Brandon Ransbottom.
"I really wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for my past directors,
(George Koncar, Cindy Sterling, and Diana Fleegle) they’re the ones who
encouraged and fueled my inner-actor and saw something in me that one day may be
seen by the world – in lights!"
Jan
Kiikka – ( Joan Todd ) - is the district librarian for Franklin Local
Schools. She on the Board of directors of Muskingum Behavioral Health and
corresponding secretary of Alpha PSI chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an
international education honorary organization. Jan spends her spare time (when
not reading) sewing and knitting for Touching Little Lives. Jan and her husband
Niel have two dogs, a cat and three fish.
Tommy
Porter – ( Victor, Maxine's Director ) -
Tom's love of the theater includes numerous shows - a few being Barnum,
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, and Murder At The Howard Johnson's. (The last
being his all time favorite) Tom is a Navy Veteran. He spent 4 years as a
musician with the Navy band touring the Pacific. He is also active in
community service, spending the last 16 years as an EMT for National Trails VFD.
To relax, Tom likes to spend sunny days out on the golf course.
Brian
Labaki – ( Tom ) - This is my first show here at ZCT. I enjoy theater very
much. I am a student at Zanes State College. I am going to be studying Radiology
Tech. I am currently employed at Pick-n-Save. I hope to continue working in
theater here at ZCT.
Ian
Milheim – ( Delivery Man ) - Hello, my name is Ian James Milheim and 84
Charing Cross Road is the latest play I have the honor of participating at here
at ZCT. I am currently a senior at
West Muskingum High School and hope to achieve my Associates Degree in
Psychology from Zane State College by spring quarter ‘05, orchestrated by the
post secondary enrollment options available.
My plans are to give into acting as career, once my education is more
finalized and thusly I hope to relocate myself to a more centralized location
for that aspect of life in the semi-near future. As a last note, I hope you
enjoy this show that is, in essence, is so very telling to towards the human
condition and the reality that a person’s reach is by no way limited through
Physical Boarder and Bounds. Peace.
Chuck
Spires –( Shopping Hippie ) - In my spare time I enjoy hunting, fishing
and just being in the woods. I also do carpentry and mechanics. I became
interested in theater last year at the Angel Tree Show. Working backstage and
behind the scenes is very interesting and enjoyable.
Terri
Kenney – ( Shopping Lawyer ) - Mother of 5 grandmother of 2. I enjoy
sewing, crocheting, playing guitar and writing songs. I also enjoy working on my
house and yard. I did some shows in high school. Got interested again when I did
the Angel Tree two years ago and will hopefully continue with shows off and on
as life allows. Theater is a lot of
hard work but a lot of fun a well.
Alice
Mauk – ( Director ) has "been involved in all aspects of theater for
too many years to mention"...she has directed and appeared on stage
throughout southeastern Ohio and West Virginia and in recent years in addition
to directing fund raising dinner theaters, she has volunteered as Drama Coach at
Rosecrans High School. She last directed for ZCT in 1996 with the musical
"Oliver" and was pleased to be asked to return to direct this
beautiful love story. Her next project will be directing dinner theater at
Longaberger's Golf Club in the spring of 2005 for Cancer Services at Genesis
Health Care. She lives in Zanesville with her husband, Whiten.
Shelley
Tolliver – ( Assistant Director ) still considers herself a rookie
in the theatrical world. Although she wears many hats at ZCT, she feels she
has a long way to go. This show has been a great pleasure for her and also
a challenge. She usually is the Assistant Director to her husband, Richard's
directing - which means her duties are a second nature. Working with Alice
on this project has been like "sailing the ocean on a beautiful
day". Very few shows are fortunate enough to contain a cast as dynamic and
tenaciously dedicated as this one. She hopes that you enjoy this show as much as
she's enjoyed her participation in its evolution
