Zanesville Community Theatre, Inc.is a wholly volunteer organization, having no paid staff positions. ZCT serves the Zanesville and Southeastern Ohio areas. ZCT is dedicated to the production of plays, musicals, and other dramatic presentations; and to the education of our members and the communities we serve in theatrical techniques and presentations. ZCT's first show was in November 1963. ZCT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

One of Shakespeare’s best known plays, Macbeth is the tale of one man’s destructive and bloody climb to the top, as well as his disastrous fall. Macbeth, at the urging of his wife and after a premonition of greatness, murders King Duncan of Scotland while he sleeps. Macbeth then becomes king, but as the guilt and paranoia of husband and wife increases, so does Macbeth’s murderous acts. Finally, after his own nobles turn against him and his wife dies, Macbeth is killed and order restored in Scotland.

Director's Comments:
Aside from the asterisked characters, there are no age requirements except that they are adults. The parts will be filled by those who best fit the parts and fit with those they are acting opposite.

Aside from those listed, there are several non-speaking parts available for various servants and children.

Some of the men’s parts may be doubled.
