Director's Notes - Kentucky Wings

A Word From The Author:

I've decided to break my own rule and appear for the first time in a play I've written myself (Raymond Futter, Sex Without Pliers). I've avoided it in the past for a number of reasons, the most important of which is this: I don't mind being egged for a bad performance, and I can handle all the eggs thrown for a lousy script. But a double-egging? That's something else.

Thanks for taking a chance on these two plays that you've probably never heard of. It's tough getting new material to the stage and your participation as an audience member is something that I don't take lightly. I also want to thank all of the talented people involved with these productions both on and off the stage. The care and attention is deeply appreciated, and I know from experience that sometimes all the hard work and dedication seems to go unnoticed. Rest assured, it's noted. I've made some new friends, learned from them, and look forward to working with them again.

So please spread the word, tell your family and friends, and come along with them to see Kentucky Wings and Sex Without Pliers a second time.

Robert Leland-Taylor

Rick Milhelm  - It has been a wonderful experience directing Kentucky Wings. Certainly, knowing the author has provided the cast and me with an added incentive to bring you a quality production. It is with great pleasure that we bring you one of Robert’s award winning shows. I trust you will enjoy it as nuch as we enjoy bringing it to you.

Charles Savage, the composer of the incidental music for this evening's play productions, is an adjunct instructor of music at Ohio University-Zanesville, where he teaches theory and conducts the Choral Union. His compositions have been heard in ZCT productions, such as, Taming of the Shrew, Equus, All's Well that ends Well, and Philo High School's production of The Diary of Anne Frank. His compositions have been performed throughout the United States, which willl include a performance of his Mad Rush to the End at the SCI District 6 conference on Jan 31st, 2004. In Feb., he will be receiving the Alumni Medal of Merit Award from Ohio Valley College. Charles is a member of ASCAP and the Society of Composers. Writing music for Kentucky Wings and Sex Without Pliers has helped me to expand my musical experiences. I hope everyone enjoys the show.
