Alisa Alitzer returns once again to her parent’s house for a yearly ritual which revolves around her brother, Billy, who died at the age of five. Billy would’ve been thirty on this particular day, which has special significance for the unstable mother, Gladys. This year she has gone to extraordinary lengths to make it a success. Alisa, however, dreads the event and intends to make this her final ceremony. She plans to tell her mother that she and her new husband, Ron, are moving far away. She knows the announcement will have particular impact because she is pregnant with her first child and Gladys has already proclaimed big plans for the baby.

How Alisa forces her mother to face the truth, how she breaks from her tormented past and how Billy really died makes up the plot for this play.
