The Lion in Winter is a funny, touching play that documents a remarkable
period in history. It tells the story of the rivalries, hostilities,
emotional manipulation, intrigues and conspiracies within Henry II's
family as they grapple with determining Henry's successor. Interwoven in
this medieval tapestry is the poignant love story of Henry and Eleanor, a
woman too strong to submit and a man too proud to compromise.
